ask-volcarona asked askvespiquen:
"I must ask, do you belong to any sort of royalty~?"

Ah, well, I suppose you could say that. The dominant vespiquen of a colony - typically the only vespiquen in a colony until her successor evolves - if often referred to as its “queen,” and I can see how the parallel is made. The vespiquen of larger hives do tend to have notable influence over the pokemon in their territory, via pheromones and resources such as honey, among other things.

So I suppose the answer to your question is a tentative, “yes,” although it’s a little strange to think of it as a true monarchy.

fergzilla asked:
So, can you show us what happened to your other two faces when you evolved from a Combee to a Vespiquen?

Well, nothing much happened to my brothers. I simply detached myself before my evolution.

I still see the from time to time, zipping around the hive. Apparently it’s much easier to fly as a set of twin combee rather than a set of triplets; they were rather pleased with that discovery, once they had adjusted to the change (the poor dears kept flying into walls in the very beginning).

galladeandhisghost asked:
Ohh, a Vespiquen! Don’t see many of you around, it’s a pleasure to meet ya~! Question, question… hm. If you could be a different type for the day, what type (or combo of two types) would you be?

Pleased to make your acquaintance, sir. My, this is a challenging question. I’m not sure I’d be willing to give up flying, but I think I’d like to experience what it’s like being a water type. I’ve always wanted to visit the sea, and swimming looks like it would be such fun.

turtwig163 asked:
Would you rather be part of the: Zerg, Terran, or Protoss?

Oh dear, um, I’m afraid I don’t have any idea what these might be referring to… Are they teams of some sort..?

((OOC: I’ve seen a few posts involving the zerg swarm or some such trying to recruit pokemon from ask blogs, but I have no interest in it. I assume they’re from some sort of game? Regardless, it doesn’t make much sense to have them bothering a sheltered young bee, so I won’t be responding to any future questions regarding the “zerg.”))

ask-male-jigglypuff asked:
What do you like to do for fun?

Ah, I believe I’ve already answered a similar question. But to summarize, I enjoy drawing more than anything.

fergzilla asked:
Did you miss your two friends (you know, your other 2 faces back when you were a Combee) when you evolved?

It was a little strange, at first, being separate from my brothers. However, once I got used to flying around on my own, it wasn’t so bad. I still see them from time to time, as they don’t go too far from the hive.

I did have two sisters before I evolved, though.

Sandrine, the eldest of us, was captured by a pokemon breeder a number of years ago. According to her letters, she and her trainer volunteer at pokemon centers as often as their free time allows. Although I miss her greatly, I’m just happy her trainer turned out to be a kind and caring individual.

Alexis, the youngest of us, was captured shortly before I evolved by an ambitious human with a couple badges under his belt and the intention of taking the Elite Four challenge. Although I haven’t heard from her in some time, she was always competitive and strong; I assume that sort of lifestyle would suit her just fine.

It’s nearing time for me to begin my daily routine, but before I do, I wanted to share some sketches with you lovely folk.

I saw some of the strangest things these past couple days…

((Feel free to suggest more pokemon for me to sketch, these were a lot of fun.))

And also!

Please just follow this person.

So good.

((YOU. You are where all of these followers and responses came from! Haha, I was starting to wonder what happened. Thank you for the promo! ♥

And welcome, new followers! I’ll start answering your questions sometime tomorrow.. which may mean “in a few hours,” we’ll see. xD))

Ooc Post - Pokemon Art Requests

I’m starting to have some doubts about this blog, but I’m not sure if it’s just my usual indecision or not. Vespiquen isn’t exactly the easiest pokemon for me to draw, especially consistency-wise. I was thinking I might try drawing a bunch of different pokemon to see if I can’t find one I like better, but with 600+ pokemon I don’t have any idea where to start. No way am I going through each one numerically, haha.

I was thinking I’d take requests for any pokemon you guys would like to see sketched up (or that you’d potentially like to see an ask blog for). It’ll also help keep me occupied in between questions.

Any takers?

turtwig163 asked you:
You’re losing a battle; what’s your last stand? A bad guy appears; what do you do?
What miracles have you witnessed at sea?

As it so happens, both the first and second questions have the same answer: I would let the guards handle it. It is their job, after all. And, as I’ve previously mentioned, I’m no good when it comes to battling.

These three in particular tend to stick rather close, in case of trouble.

As for the sea, I’ve never had a chance to see it in person…

.. but it looks positively beautiful in pictures.
